It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our webpage and to thank you for showing an interest in Kenmei Girlsf Junior and Senior High School.

This year, we are celebrating our 60th anniversary. In 1951, four sisters from Canada started this school with a firm and sincere belief in God as Marie Rivier, the founder of The Presentation of Mary order, did in France.

In the summer of 2008, the gSymposium for the Presentation of Mary Schools in the Worldh was held in St. Hyachinthe, Quebec, Canada. This is where the four sisters originally came from. A delegation from Kenmei attended, along with other delegations from more than 200 Presentation of Mary schools in 20 countries. We learned a great deal from the Symposium, which was organized by the General House of the Congregation in Castelgandolfo, Italy as well as an organizing committee including members of the College Saint-Maurice in St. Hyachinthe.

I wanted to promote our relationship among our sister schools in the world, and I proposed to make our school homepages more accessible in order to foster communication among the staff and students of all the Presentation schools. We would appreciate it if you allowed us to link to your page. We hope our students will develop friendships with students of all our sister schools.

Sister Jeanette Fecteau, who was one of the four sisters mentioned above, wrote the lyrics of our school song and was the spiritual backbone of Kenmei. Sister Marie-Therese Moreau, who was from Kenmei, worked as an advisor to the Superior General of the Presentation of Mary in Castelgandolfo. Both of them passed away recently in St. Hyachinthe and although we were very saddened at their passing, their spirit and dedication has inspired us. As well as our sister schools, we are also greatly inspired by the devotion and spirit of Marie Rivier.

Thanks to the support and prayer of many people, Kenmei has continued to develop at its campus near Himeji Castle, which is famous as an UNESCO World Heritage site.

We are committed to making a constant effort for further progress with our 10,000 graduates and with the common hope of the Marie Rivier schools.
